Role Overview

We seek a Sales Manager to drive the sales strategy, promote our weighing controllers, and work closely with other OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) and system integrators to expand our market presence in India.

The Sales/Product Manager will be responsible for driving the sales and growth of our weighing controller products, focusing on various applications such as bagging machines, batching plants, liquid filling machines, silo weighing systems, and process weighing. Based in Ahmedabad, the role will cover the entire Indian market and involve significant interaction with Weighing OEMs (OEM manufacturers of weighing automation systems). The Sales Manager will play a key role in developing sales strategies, identifying new market opportunities, and establishing strong relationships with customers and OEM partners.

Responsibility / KRAs

Sales Strategy & Business Development

  • Develop Sales Strategy: Create and implement a comprehensive sales strategy for the weighing controllers, with a focus on key applications such as bagging machines, batching plants, silo systems, and process weighing. Ensure the strategy aligns with overall business objectives and market demand.
  • Market Expansion: Identify new and emerging applications and industries where our weighing controllers can be introduced and successfully implemented. Explore new opportunities for product applications and expand the customer base in both existing and untapped sectors.
  • OEM Partnerships: Establish and nurture long-term relationships with other weighing OEMs and system integrators. Work closely with them to drive the adoption of our weighing controllers in their automation solutions.
  • Target Market Penetration: Develop and execute plans to penetrate target markets across India, including food processing, Agro, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, packaging, and construction, where weighing systems are critical.

Sales & Revenue Generation

  • Lead Sales Efforts: Manage the end-to-end sales process, from prospecting and lead generation to closing deals. Drive sales growth by converting leads into long-term customers.
  • Customer Acquisition: Identify and approach potential customers, focusing on key decision-makers in industries requiring weighing systems and automation solutions. Present solutions and products effectively to close sales.
  • Sales Targets & Performance: Set and achieve sales targets in alignment with the overall business objectives. Monitor and report on sales performance, ensuring consistent growth and revenue generation.
  • New Business Development: Continuously scout for new business opportunities within India, identifying potential customers who would benefit from our weighing solutions, including potential partnerships with OEMs.

Customer Relationship Management

  • Build Relationships: Develop strong, lasting relationships with key accounts and OEM partners, understanding their needs and providing tailored solutions to meet their requirements.
  • Technical Support: Provide customers and OEM partners with technical information, product demonstrations, and troubleshooting support as needed to ensure satisfaction.
  • Customer Retention: Work proactively to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction, resolve any issues quickly, and ensure repeat business.
  • Feedback & Insights: Collect feedback from customers, OEM partners, and the market to share with the product and management teams for product improvements and new opportunities.

Collaboration with Product Management & Marketing

  • Sales Enablement: Work closely with the Product Management team to align sales strategies with product development efforts. Ensure you are equipped with the latest product information, marketing materials, and sales tools.
  • Market Intelligence: Share insights gathered from the field with the marketing and product teams to improve product positioning and identify new opportunities for growth.
  • Promotional Activities: Collaborate with the marketing team to plan and execute sales promotions, product launches, and campaigns that target OEMs, integrators, and end-users.

Reporting & Forecasting

  • Sales Forecasting: Develop accurate sales forecasts and track sales metrics, ensuring timely reporting to senior management.
  • Budget Management: Manage the sales budget, ensuring efficient use of resources to maximize ROI.
  • Sales Reports: Prepare and present regular sales performance reports, identifying trends, challenges, and opportunities.

Skills

  • Sales Expertise: Proven track record in B2B sales, including lead generation, customer acquisition, and deal closure.
  • OEM Relationship Management: Ability to build and manage relationships with OEM partners, system integrators, and key stakeholders.
  • Product Knowledge: Strong technical knowledge of weighing systems, automation solutions, and controllers.
  • Negotiation Skills: Ability to negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with customers and OEM partners.
  • Customer Focused: Excellent customer-facing skills, with the ability to understand customer needs and deliver effective solutions.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to think strategically and create sales plans that drive business growth.
